The only reason it's not a 9.5 or 10 is the light bleed issue with the automatic correction, and the absence of Netflix.
The image quality and motion was better then expected. It does wash out the brighter the room gets, but that is to be expected with a projector. The image of the projector is extremely good in a dark room environment. There are plenty of calibration settings to work with to get the image dialed in to your preference. However, I would love to see Netflix added in a future update. The android interface was quick and worked well. The brightness, image sharpness, and motion was on par with the 86 inch Sony X900F that I was transitioning from. I spoke with Hisense about this, and they were taking a look as to why this is happening. I opted to do the manual mode instead, and this took several hours to get perfect, but did eliminate the light bleeding issue. This did a good job of lining up the image to the screen, but I noticed a significant amount of light bleed at the left and right edges. To setup the projector, I originally used the automatic correction. I put it together on my own, and had it mounted on the wall in under 2 hours. The instructions are clear, and the screen was easy to assemble. The box is very large, but packaged well. Tv tuner, PS4, built in apps, and Roku are all running flawlessly. We have been using it as our primary tv for two weeks now with no problems. Even in a daylight lit room it is totally acceptable. But once you get it semi close the auto correction is like BAM! And it’s perfect. The instructions said to place it 8.5 inches from the wall. The only other difficulty was getting the image lined up on the screen. That was a challenge as to get it flipped correctly. Either the instructions are wrong or my screen was rolled incorrectly at the factory.
I followed mine to the “T” but it had me unroll my screen right side up which was incorrect. The instructions are a little confusing and obviously written in a different language and translated to English but they work. Luckily there are multiple options on how to contact a customer service agent but still that was and extra and unnecessary step. The description on the website never explains that the cinema screen comes standard which is would be helpful.
